AS/400, iSeries & i5 Program Generators and Utilities from GEN400: The Development Process

The development process
could not be more straightforward - all you have to do is:

SELECT THE FILE

Identify the prime file name.

SPECIFY THE SCREEN TITLE

Key in the title to appear on the screen.

SELECT AND SEQUENCE FIELDS You are presented with all of the data fields in the selected file from which you choose those to appear on your screen. A screen layout is automatically created.

ADDITIONAL FIELDS/
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

You can include any of the host of other additional fields and functions (see links below). The screen layout will automatically adjust to reflect changes.

SAVE THE DEFINITION

When you are happy with the program layout and functionality, save the definition. Creation of the source code for the program, display files and print files, and compilation of the program, are requested at the same time.

PROGRAM GENERATED

The program is now available for immediate use. You simply CALL the created program.
